Yellowstone boss Taylor Sheridan’s new drama The Madison is nowhere near releasing its second season, but it’s already been renewed by Paramount for a third due to its huge success.
The network said that the “record-breaking” show, which premiered on 13 March, received 8 million viewers for its debut episode in its first 10 days.
“The show is Sheridan’s most-watched debut ever and was the #1 original season by views among streaming originals for its first week of release… with nearly 1 billion minutes viewed for its first full week,” Paramount explained.
With huge numbers like that, it’s no wonder that the show has been given a season 3 renewal without waiting to release season 2.
Filming has already wrapped on season 2, with the premiere date set to be announced soon.
The show follows a family that decide to move from New York City to southwest Montana after a devastating tragedy. Thematically, it deals with grief, adjusting to a major change in your life, and the difference between city and rural life.
Michelle Pfeiffer leads a strong cast that also features Kurt Russell, Matthew Fox, Patrick J Adams, Beau Garrett, and Will Arnett.
