Tom Selleck is one of those actors we not only love watching on screen but also have the utmost respect for. Back when Selleck’s fan-favorite police drama series, Blue Bloods, came to an end, we all missed his presence in our lives. And while the feeling was mutual from Selleck’s end, this is what he regretted not doing in the long run of the series.
Talking to TV Insider back in October 2024, Selleck was asked his thoughts on what could have been done more for his character Frank Raegen. In his salience response, Selleck noted.
“Everybody says, “Well, it’d be nice to see [Frank] have a relationship.” If I had any regrets, it would be that because they weren’t writing a relationship, he didn’t get to flirt often enough. But that didn’t fit what became our format.”
Blue Bloods concluded following a whopping 14-season run. The police procedural involving the Raegen family concluded on December 13, 2024.
However, the fans soon got their first-ever spinoff sequel, Boston Blue.
A Forever Dream: Tom Selleck May Return to Entertainment Industry

The chances of watching Tom Selleck back on screens have inched a little closer to fruition, as per ScreenRant. The outlet suggests that Selleck has signed a representation contract with United Talent Agency, aka UTA. This move strongly suggests that the artist is ready to return to the entertainment industry.
It still can’t be stated with assurance that Selleck will be back as an actor. The signup could also mean that this time, he will enter the industry as a director, actor, or in any capacity related to production.
In case you don’t know, Selleck was previously represented by CAA, the same firm that also looked after big Hollywood names, including former James Bond actor Daniel Craig, the legendary Meryl Streep, as well as the most outworldly talented Zendaya.
Ziffren Brittenham LLP, N2N Entertainment, and Wolf-Kasteler Public Relationships were the other firms to join CAA in representing Selleck. It is to be noted that the three aforementioned firms will still remain associated with Selleck moving forward.
Selleck has been on hiatus since his last on-screen appearance back in 2024.
Boston Blue’s Renewal Hints at Tom Selleck’s Comeback

Boston Blue is the first-ever spinoff of the long-running police procedural drama series. What makes the series interesting is that it has the same old familiar faces, now leading the show.
To be precise, Donnie Wahlberg, who we all loved watching alongside Selleck, reprised his role of Donny Reagan. While the series had received a great response from the audience, following its first beautifully crafted season, Boston Blue has been renewed for another outing.
This only hints at Selleck reprising his role of Frank Reagan. However, the possibilities of Selleck’s return could range from a full-time gig to even a cameo. This comes after we already saw Bridget Moynahan’s Erin Reagan-Boyle appearing in Boston Blue.
