Emily Osment is reminiscing on the two decades since Hannah Montana wrapped its four-season run, and the full-circle way her career has evolved since.
In a post shared to Instagram, the 33-year-old actress uploaded a photo of two scripts: one from a 2007 episode of Hannah Montana and another from her current series, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage.
“On the heels of our Hannah Montana 20 year milestone, our beloved Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage director Mark Cendrowski brought in his old copy of an HM episode this morning. Proves a few things,” Osment wrote in the post’s caption. “First, that I’m old, second that I’m still doing what I love but mostly, MOSTLY that Mark won’t leave me alone after all these years and i’m really starting to freak out about it.”
Osment portrayed Lilly Truscott — the best friend of Hannah and the girlfriend of Oliver Oken on seasons 3 and 4 — on the Disney Channel series.
Starring Miley Cyrus in the titular role, the Disney Channel series ran for four seasons between March 2006 and January 2011. It chronicled the life of Cyrus’ fictional character, Miley Stewart, who doubled as both an average teenager and a pop star as she lived the “best of both worlds.
Series star Cyrus has said she has big plans to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio, the 33-year-old actress and musician said, “I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today. Without Hannah, there really wouldn’t be this kind of… this me.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Cyrus said she was excited to “celebrate” the character that launched her career.
“It’s so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed,” she said. “And now that’s something that when I walk into a space, it’s looked at as this sense of nostalgia or something that you have from your childhood, but I’ve now been as kind of integrated into everyone’s life as the character itself. So that’s exciting to get to celebrate that.”
In January, Cyrus teased that the 20th anniversary plans were underway while speaking to Variety on the red carpet of the 37th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday, Jan. 3.
“Absolutely. We’re working hard on them,” she shared when asked about the show’s anniversary.
When pushed for more intel, the star replied, “I can’t tell you,” before adding, “You see the bangs,” referring to her character’s signature hairstyle.
