Where’s Virgin River filmed?
Virgin River, California, is not a real place. In fact, the series isn’t filmed in Northern California at all. Jack’s Bar
Though most of the interior shots for Jack’s bar were filmed in a studio, many of the exterior shots were filmed at Watershed Grill, a restaurant in Backendale, British Columbia, that offers the same river-view seating seen in Virgin River.
Mel’s Cabin
Mel’s Cabin is the real-life home of the caretaker of Murdo Frazer Park, located in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The house has also been featured in shows like Psych, Flash and Once Upon a Time.
Hope McCrea’s house
Mayor Hope McCrea’s house is a historic residence nicknamed the Edgar Residence on Deer Lake Drive in Burnaby. The home was originally built in 1912 and is important for its connection to Robert McBeth Edgar, a wealthy businessman whose “contribution to Burnaby and British Columbia was far-reaching and significant,” according to Historic Places Canada.
Paige’s Bakeaway Food Truck
While Paige’s food truck, Bakeaway, isn’t a real business, fans can still visit many of the locations where the food truck was parked at, such as Burnaby Fraser Park in Burnaby, British Columbia, and Deer Lake Park in Deer Lake.
Vernon Mullins’ Family Practice Clinic
Mel’s workplace, Vernon Mullins’ family practice clinic, isn’t a real clinic at all but a Victorian home located on First Street in New Westminster, British Columbia. The queen Anne-style house was built in 1989 and has been used by other shows such as Supernatural, according to the Daily Hive.
