Will NCIS Season 23 and NCIS: Sydney Season 3 release new episodes? Fans have been buzzing with this question. Both series focus on the adventures of special agents at the NCIS. Recently, viewers have asked whether more episodes are scheduled for this week.
Here is all the information on the latest speculation surrounding the military police procedural series.
Why NCIS or NCIS Sydney aren’t airing new episodes on May 19
NCIS Season 23 or NCIS Sydney Season 3 aren’t airing new episodes on May 19 because the seasons have come to an end. Both shows aired their season finale on May 12, 2026. In fact, NCIS Sydney Season 3 dropped a two-episode finale. Recently, many platforms have been splitting their popular shows’ seasons into parts. Thus, the NCIS franchise was expected to follow a similar pattern.
Sadly, the show isn’t following this pattern, and all the episodes have been released on their scheduled date and time. While the shows aren’t rolling out new episodes, they will return with new seasons. NCIS and NCIS: Sydney were renewed for another season in January of this year. Showrunner Steven D. Binder shared what fans should expect from NCIS Season 24.
“We have a lot of things on the table,” he told TV Line. Binder continued that Nick Torres and Jess Knight’s storyline is “going to continue to play out” in the upcoming installment. On the other hand, Olivia Swann teased a Mackey-JD angle in NCIS: Sydney Season 4. “I’m looking forward to seeing where that goes in [season] 4,” the actress told US Weekly. She explained that if Mackey and JD become a couple, they “maybe would be surprised at how much their protection level would shift.”
Swann added, “I think a lot of what they have is very unspoken and kind of subconscious with each other. If that were to shift into something more overt, I think they’d kind of be taken by surprise at how kind of big and deep the feelings might be.”
NCIS and NCIS: Sydney’s episodes are streaming on Paramount+.
