It seems a former Grey Sloan Memorial doctor will be trading in their scrubs and heading to the beaches of Fiji to compete as part of the Survivor 51 cast.
According to Inside Survivor, actor Devin Way, who played Dr. Blake Simmons on ABC’s long-running medical drama, is among the 21 players set to compete as part of Survivor 51. Way originated the role of Blake on Grey’s Anatomy season 16 and even crossed over into the show’s spinoff, Station 19, for a special guest appearance before his exit from the show.
While Way had a smaller role in the grand scheme of Grey’s Anatomy, he’s gone on to appear in several shows since exiting Grey’s Anatomy, including Tyler Perry’s Sistas, the final season of HBO’s The Comeback, and Peacock’s Queer as Folk reboot.
It’s going to be fun to see how Way plays the game of Survivor and if being an actor helps him in the competition by giving him the chance to play a character. He’ll also join a legendary list of celebrities to have played the game of Survivor, a list that includes the likes of Survivor 50 legend Mike White and three-time player Jonathan Penner.
Speaking of the Survivor 51 cast, it’s a group that features players from all walks of life. We’ve got our Grey’s Anatomy star; we have a medical student; we’ve got a few attorneys; and we even have a renowned OB-GYN. We’ll get and official look at the Survivor 51 cast in the months ahead, but here is the rumored cast list:

- Cristian Chavez (25) – A human resources executive from Salt Lake City, UT
- Daniel Kilby (28) – A game studio founder from London, ON
- Devin Way (33) – An actor/model from Lufkin, TX
- Eric Macksoud (34) – A mental health therapist from Sunderland, MA
- Jenna Greenawalt (31) – A wedding videographer from Maumee, OH
- Kristin Flickinger (49) – A former pride director from Santa Barbara, CA
- Lewis Kelly (28) – An influencer from Dublin, Ireland/Puerto Rico
- Linnea Capobianco (26) – A sex store owner from Kearny, NJ

There is also a 21st player whose identity has not yet been confirmed but appears to be a player by the name of Maggie. We’ll likely get confirmation on Maggie’s full name, age, and occupation in the days ahead.
While the Survivor 51 cast has leaked, we’ll have to wait until closer to fall for CBS to officially unveil the full cast and provide us with cast photos and bios. But still, it’s nice to have an early snapshot of the players set to compete in the next season and it’s also fun to know we’ve got a season of all newcomers coming our way this fall!
