It’s been a hot minute since we’ve checked in with Mel, Jack, Preacher, Hope and Doc.

Virgin River season 7 premiered on Netflix on March 12, exploring what’s going on in our favorite Northern California town.

When we last left off, Brie was in the midst of a love triangle, Mel and Jack were on the verge of adoption, and the clinic was in peril before the couple got to go on their honeymoon.

While we have many more questions as we head into the new season, one thing is certain: we’ll all be tuning in on March 12 and analyzing their decisions with a keen eye and box of tissues close by in case we shed a tear or several while watching our favorite show.

Aries: Dan Brady 

Dan Brady’s impulsive actions lead him to a path that he is trying to get out of. The bad guy gone good is working to become a better person to win Brie back. Aries act in the moment and later regret what they say and do, which is in tune with Brady. He eventually becomes a rebel with a cause.

Taurus: Brie Sheridan 

Brie is a lawyer with a traumatic backstory. She’s Jack’s sister, who has plenty of healing to do, which is part of her arc in the series, but she is willful and doesn’t give in to her Bullish sentiments. Tauruses are resilient, like Brie, even when they are going through it and do not hide from their wounds and scars.

Gemini: Connie

Connie has two distinct sides to her personality, similar to the dualistic Gemini. On the one hand, she’s tough as nails, and on the other, she’s spilling the tea (because she is a member of the local gossip crew). At the core, Connie exhibits a few Gemini traits: she loves to chatter and is protective of those she cares about.

Cancer: Lizzie

Lizzie comes to Virgin River in hopes of escaping her past. As she develops into a wonderful young lady, her motherly instincts kick in. Lizzie’s unexpected pregnancy and passion to be an amazing parent awakened her nurturing instincts, connecting her to the zodiac sign Cancer, the maternal sign in astrology. Lizzie’s love for Denny is pure, proving her unconditional heart.

Leo: Charmaine Roberts

Although Charmaine does not intend to be chaotic and dramatic, she always finds herself in the thick of it. Charmaine personifies the zodiac sign Leo because she’s always stirring the pot, regardless of whether it’s intentional or not. Beyond her theatrics, Charmaine has a heart of gold; she yearns for love and affection, like the lion desires attention from others.

Virgo: Melinda “Mel” Monroe

Mel is probably the most understanding and empathetic person in Virgin River, making her a Virgo. The Earth sign is known to be patient and kind, even putting others before themselves. This is seen through her acts of service to the community, and even in her relationships. She’s always on call and on duty, caring for others, like a Virgo.

Libra: John “Preacher” Middleton

Preacher is a relationship-oriented person, much like the zodiac sign Libra; he will do anything for his friends, especially his romantic interests. When he was crushing on Paige, he went to the ends of the earth for her, and wants to do the same for Kaia. Even though Preacher tries to be logical, he leads with his heart and emotions.

Scorpio: Jack Sheridan

Jack has been through a lot in his life and is recovering from ongoing PTSD. His transformative demeanor throughout the seasons is due to Mel’s influence; however, he still has a brooding personality underneath it all, which aligns him with the star sign Scorpio. The evolutionary process his character has undergone is very scorpion-like, as he undergoes an emotional metamorphosis.

Sagittarius: Hope McCrea

Hope is spunky, assertive, and full of life — all of the attributes that describe Sagittarius pertain to her demeanor. On occasion, Hope can be a little stubborn, but it’s only because she is persuasive in debates and must prove her point of view, which is how Sagittariuses win arguments. Hope’s passion for everything she does ignites the Sagittarius spark.

Capricorn: Dr. Vernon “Doc” Mullins 

Capricorns tend to stay on the more traditional side of matters and rarely throw caution to the wind. Doc believes in utilizing his skills and working hard as Capricorns do; however, he is stuck in his ways and has a hard time veering from the path — that is, until Mel and Hope step in and guide him to different perspectives.

Aquarius: Kaia Bryant

Aquarians truly believe in people they care about, especially those who have had a hard go of it, since they side with the underdog and want people to evolve into greatness. Kaia personifies the water bearer because she has an affinity towards helping Preacher during his legal troubles. She stands by him through thick and thin, as an Aquarian would.

Pisces: Denny Cutler

Denny portrays a softness and sensitivity that are soulful, like the essence of Pisces. His desire to be kind and help others, which speaks to Pisces’ altruism and tender spirit, is the motivation for him to do good and lead with compassion. Although he worries about his health and personal setbacks, that doesn’t stop him from being a stellar person.
