It was a tale of two Victorias this weekend at Albuquerque Comic Con, where Twilight stars Rachelle Lefevre and Bryce Dallas Howard came together for an appearance that is pretty much blowing fans’ minds.
The actressess, who shared the role of one of the series’ villains, offered fans a rare opportunity for a special duo photo op, teasing it with a comical video clip on social media where Dallas Howard portrayed the part of a mega fan. She approached Lefevre at a mock autograph table, gushing, “I am such a fan!”
“You have no idea,” she added. “You are my absolute favorite redhead.”
“Oh my God, thank you!” Lefevre replied, leaning across the table as though engaging with a con attendee. “Tell me your name!”
“My favorite Victoria by far,” Dallas Howard emphasized, her hand waving through the air for emphasis and causing the opposing Victoria actress to giggle.
Dallas Howard danced around providing a name, telling her co-Victoria, “I just want your signature! I don’t want to taint it with my name,” and fans were positively tickled by the “iconic” interaction.
It Was a Good Day to Be a ‘Twilight’ Fan
The sweet interaction between the two stars left fans gushing over “two of the most beautiful people in Hollywood.”
“This is the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen,” one wrote, while someone else said, “god i love being a twilight fan.”
“Omg omg omg omg.. i litterly [sic] almost fell of my chair 😮❤️,” another said, with several referencing a presumed rivalry between the two over the role and surprised to see “2 Victoria’s in 1 room!!”
The Role Was Recast Halfway Through the Series
Lefevre performed as Victoria in the first two Twilight films, with Dallas Howard taking over the role in Eclipse. The studios attributed the decision to scheduling conflicts relating to Lefevre’s commitment to another project, though the two projects only included 10 days of crossover.
At the time, Lefevre said she was “stunned” to learn that they “would not accommodate” her, stating, “I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria.”
Lefevre said she declined “several” film opportunities in order to avoid conflicts. “…in accordance with my contractual rights, [I] accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules,” she explained. “Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap.”
“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience…I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best,” she concluded.
