For those of us who have Grey’s Anatomy on a constant rewatch cycle and have essentially become Lexiepedias of show knowledge, there’s very little that we’ve missed at this point. However, some eagle-eyed fans spotted a hidden detail even the most seasoned Grey’s fan is bound to have overlooked. And the best part is, it’s a truly wholesome Easter egg that’s bound to make you smile.
The moment was caught by a fan who shared it on the show’s Reddit fan page, and it occurs in Season 15 as the show gives a happy ending to a pair of its background characters.
In Season 15’s “Momma Knows Best,” Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) goes on a blind date and meets John (Josh Radnor), who seems to be the perfect match for her … until he’s not. Before he says the wrong thing and puts a damper on the date, though, Meredith and John discover they weren’t even meant to meet. As it turns out, they’ve accidentally traded blind dates with another man and woman, respectively, and they spot the two getting cozy at the bar together. Rather than clearing up the mistake, they decide to send ditch texts and take off together to let the new lovebirds get to know one another in peace.
“Maybe they’re falling in love,” John says. “Maybe they’re meant to be.”
“Good luck to them,” Meredith then agrees before they leave.
While John and Meredith don’t work out on account of his opinion of single moms, it appears the other John found his love connection on that blind date. In the same season’s Episode 18, “Add It Up,” the two are spotted in the crowd of expecting moms and dads during a childbirth support class.

“It’s the accidental date couple from Meredith’s blind date! I’m on season 15 episode 18, where Owen [Kevin McKidd] and Koracick [Greg Germann] are waiting on Teddy [Kim Raver] in the birthing class. I thought it was cute that they showed these 2 worked out and are now expecting,” the fan poster said of the discovered detail.
In response, other fans showed their surprise and delight. One fan wrote, “omg wait thats adorable. now they just need to get far away from that cursed building.” Another added, “haha wow i didn’t get that, brilliant.”
