NCIS fans, prepare to be glued to your sofas this October – with three instalments of the franchise ready for release in the US.

Original series NCIS will be back for its 24th season, alongside the return of NCIS: Origins and brand new spin-off, NCIS: New York.

All three shows will premiere on Tuesday, 6 October, with back-to-back episodes starting from 8pm on US network CBS.

NCIS: Sydney will be back for its 10-episode fourth season later in the year, after being held for a midseason release date yet to be confirmed.

The central NCIS series is proving particularly exciting for fans, as it’s been confirmed we will be seeing the return of Michael Weatherly as the iconic Tony DiNozzo, 10 years since he last set foot in the office.

Tony’s character arc is expected to run throughout the entire season, with ties to the short-lived NCIS: Tony & Ziva, a spin-off about Tony and his ex Ziva (Cote de Pablo) as they juggled co-parenting and international threats, which was cancelled after one season last year.

Speaking at a fan convention in London at the beginning of July, Weatherly said (via TVLine): “There is a definite connection between [Tony & Ziva] and the canon that that created… There’s not going to be retconning of, like, oh, ‘Tony & Ziva’ never happened.”

NCIS: New York will follow LL Cool J as NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna, a character seen in ended spin-offs NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawaii, as he returns to his native state to pick up a job in New York City’s NCIS field office.

He’s partnered up with a rogue agent (Scott Caan) as the new team takes shape to protect the city, one of the most vital portals in the world.

Among the cast is Flashdance icon Jennifer Beals, 13 Reasons Why’s Devin Druid and Power Book IV: Force’s Shane Harper.

It’s currently not known at what point NCIS or any of its spin-offs will make their way to UK soil, with season 23 of the main series still unavailable on Disney+ at the time of writing, and no news on when it will arrive.

NCIS: Origins, a prequel series focusing on Leroy Jethro Gibbs before he became the agent we know and love, is heading into its third season and will also run for 10 episodes.

Austin Stowell takes over the role from Mark Harmon, who played Gibbs for 18 seasons on the main NCIS, with Harmon serving as the show’s narrator.
