Taylor Sheridan’s new Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch is the newest addition to his TV universe. The series continues the story of the modern Dutton family and, if early viewing figures are anything to go by, it’s already a hit.
The show, which premiered On Paramount+ on May 15, was watched 12.9 million times globally in the first week of its release, making it the largest original series premiere in the network’s history. The plot remains in the same present-day timeline as the original, following Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) to South Texas where they’re looking for a fresh start. But while the setting is new, the ghosts of Yellowstone are never too far behind. Alongside their son, Carter (Fin Little), the family face the same power plays, land wars and family drama we’re used to – but this time with the addition of a new rival ranch.
