Rip Wheeler is truly out of his element when he’s not in his chaps.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive clip from the new episode of Dutton Ranch, which premieres Friday, June 19, Rip (Cole Hauser), Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Carter (Finn Little) are all dressed up to attend a party at the 10-Petal ranch hosted by Beulah (Annette Bening).
It’s a rare sight from Rip in particular, as he’s swapped his signature look — jeans, chaps and a Yellowstone jacket — for a dress shirt and jacket. “I feel f—ing ridiculous,” Rip says as the clip begins.
Carter, who is also dressed up for the evening, tells him, “You look f—ing ridiculous,” and Rip laughs. “That makes two of us,” he says.
As the boys drink a beer before heading out, Rip suggests that Carter join him at 10-Petal, where he’s begun working as foreman, and then the conversation takes a turn.
“Thank you, by the way,” Carter says. “For giving me a place to live. Looking after me. Everything you and Beth have done.”
“You don’t have to thank me, son,” Rip tells him.
Beth then emerges from the house, equally dressed up, and compliments her husband and son for how “sharp” they look. When Carter offers to drive them to the party, Beth reveals she has a trick up her sleeve.
In true cowboy fashion, the trio rides their horses over to the party. “This is f—ing cowboy,” Carter says.

Ahead of the premiere of Dutton Ranch in May, Hauser, 51, and Reilly, 48, told PEOPLE that the move from Montana to Texas for their characters in the Yellowstone spinoff series is “like going to the moon for these characters.”
“Beth and Rip were always such warriors, and they’re hoping that they may not have to be warriors,” Reilly said. “They’re always going to protect each other. They were protecting a place and a dream of John Dutton’s for five seasons. Now that cycle, that burden is over. It’s dead. And so, who are they together now?”
They also gushed over working with Little, 20. “He’s just grown with us, and we love him,” Reilly said.
“We’ve been a part of his most formidable years as a young man,” Hauser added. “And so, to see him grow not only off the screen, but on the screen as an actor, he has so much talent, and it’s just oozing out of him.”
