Warning: This article contains spoilers from Episodes 1-8 of “Dutton Ranch,” now streaming on Paramount+.
Ever since Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) moved to Texas after losing their entire existence in Montana to a fire, it has been one thing after another.
As the fan-favorite couple from “Yellowstone” tried to rebuild with their adopted son, Carter (Finn Little), the journey hasn’t been easy, especially amid the family’s struggle to stay afloat. After losing their cattle to disease, the two joined fellow rancher Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening), initially a major adversary, and her 10 Petal Ranch.
However, it wasn’t smooth sailing as bad blood brewed between Rip and Rob-Will Jackson (Jai Courtney), the substance-using, wayward scion of the Dutton-rival Jackson family.
As the series heads towards its final episode, secrets are being revealed, and Rip and Beth learn that 10 Petal Ranch is running an illegal cattle-smuggling operation across the Mexican border to keep financially afloat with the next shipment two days away. They also make the startling discovery that the disease that cost them their entire cattle may have originated from the Jacksons’ ranch, which is now the center of a succession battle.
