The marathon comes in anticipation of Fathom Events’ theatrical rerelease of the Twilight saga at the end of October and beginning of November, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the publication of Stephanie Meyer’s original Twilight novel.
The theatrical rerelease will drop the first film, 2008’s Twilight, onto the big screen on Oct. 29. After that, 2009’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon will land on Oct. 30, and 2010’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will screen on Oct. 31. The two-part finale will conclude the five-night event, with 2011’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 playing on Nov. 1 and 2012’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 wrapping the series on Nov. 2.
Certain screenings will include roundtable conversations featuring Meyer, producers Wyck Godfrey and Karen Rosenfelt, and former Lionsgate co-president of production Gillian Bohrer. Tickets for all five movies are now on sale.
The five Twilight films collectively grossed more than $3.3 billion at the global box office, and helped inspire a massive wave of renewed interest in both young adult fiction and vampire entertainment.
