The Madison’s return timeline just got a whole lot clearer. Star Ben Schnetzer teased when fans can expect season 2 and shared an exciting update on season 3’s production schedule.

Ben Schnetzer talks about The Madison Seasons 2 and 3

In an interview with The Playlist, Ben Schnetzer teased The Madison season 2’s release timeline on Paramount+. The actor, who plays Sheriff Van Davis, revealed that season 3 could begin filming in early 2027. He told the outlet, “I think it’s going to be the top of ’27.”

Schnetzer also suggested the season 2 premiere could align with the start of season 3 production. He explained the connection between the two milestones in his response. “I think they’re kind of timing it with the rollout of when they drop season 2,” he said.

However, the actor cautioned that nothing has been officially confirmed by the network yet. He maintained a measured approach to the timeline, staying true to his practical mindset. “Until they tell me I’m… So, I’m just stoked we’re going to come back for season 3,” Schnetzer added.

The Madison debuted on Paramount+ in March 2026 with six episodes led by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. The Western drama drew over 1 billion minutes viewed in its first week alone. Paramount subsequently renewed the series for both a second and third season.

Schnetzer also shed light on the unique production schedule behind the first two seasons. The cast shot season 1 in fall 2024 and then wrapped season 2 in fall 2025. Russell and Matthew Fox filmed their scenes separately due to scheduling conflicts and Montana’s harsh winter conditions. Fox will not return for season 2 after deciding against a long-running television commitment.

Meanwhile, Schnetzer is preparing to shoot The White Lotus season 4 on the French Riviera. The Madison’s supporting cast includes Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Kevin Zegers, and Will Arnett.

The Madison is available to stream on Paramount+.

Landman‘s second season was emotional and dramatic and left fans hungry for more. Season 2 saw Cami (Demi Moore) take over M-Tex after the death of her husband, only to find out about the company’s hidden financial woes and, eventually, fire Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) for doubting her decisions about how to deal with them.

The season also saw Angela (Ali Larter) grappling with the fact that her daughter, Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), is entering a new phase in her life with college, while Cooper (Jacob Lofland) experienced several highs and lows, including striking liquid gold on his new oil leases, finding out his financier was drug kingpin Gallino (Andy Garcia), and experiencing a breakup and eventual engagement with Ariana (Paulina Chávez) before she went through a major trauma.

Elsewhere, we also met T.L. (Sam Elliott), Tommy’s father, and the finale concluded with Tommy hanging a shingle for a new Norris family-owned and operated company… with the dangerous Gallino as partner.

In other words, a lot happened in Landman Season 2, but there are still a lot of dangling threads for Season 3 to pick up on. Here’s what we know about Landman Season 3so far.

Is Landman renewed for Season 3?

Yes. Paramount+ announced on December 5 that the show has been greenlit for a third season after a major viewership tally for Season 2. Per the streamer, the premiere notched a whopping 9.2 million streams on its first two days, which was a 262% increase over Season 1’s debut and marked the biggest premiere for any Paramount+ original so far.

Meanwhile, Billy Bob Thornton recently told USA Today that he is signed on to his contract for the show for “four or five years.”

What will Landman Season 3 be about?

Series cocreator Christian Wallace, who developed the show with Taylor Sheridan, talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the potential future of the series and said that Season 2 is “still just skimming the surface.”

“Our cast has added so much depth to the characters. They know them so well now that they make it easy to tell an entertaining story,” the Boomtown podcast host said. “As long as everyone’s still having fun and the story is continuing in a worthwhile way, then, sure, I’d love for it to go as long as the story permits. There’s a lot of runway left.”

Indeed, the Season 2 finale did leave fans with a ton of burning questions for the next bow to answer.

When will Landman Season 3 premiere?

Wallace indicated that it could return at the same pace that Season 2 did, a year after the first season’s debut. “I think it’s the plan. We hate to make people wait too long, and we’re all excited to get back and do it again. After we wrap, a couple weeks later, we’re like, ‘Dang, I miss everybody’ — cast and crew. We have such a great crew. I think we’re ready to get back to it as soon as we can.” However, a more recent update indicates the new season might come even sooner than that; executive producer Stephen Kay said, during The Hollywood Reporter’s Directors in Focus event, “We’re cutting while we’re shooting, so it’ll, hopefully, be out soon.”

Meanwhile, Billy Bob Thornton confirmed in a recent interview that the new season will begin production in Texas in August.
