Okay, that whole jet ski scenario was silly, but I’m surprisingly okay with that.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Episode 20 offered a goofy plot, but it wasn’t slapstick, and it wasn’t unrelatable.
Sometimes people make stupid choices, so an episode about one that was ridiculous but harmless was worth watching.

The Jet Ski Wasn’t Really The Point on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Episode 20
It was really only the second half of the episode that focused on that ridiculous purchase, though the preview trailer had made it seem like the story would be about the jet ski.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Episode 20 was really about a different type of money problem than the title couple usually faces — instead of a lack, there was a windfall.
It was weird that Georgie had no idea how much money he had made. Although he hadn’t kept up with his books, he must have deposited something in his business account, which should have given him a clue.
But that can be overlooked because it led to such a relatable conflict: Georgie not knowing how to spend money on himself.

I get how that is. I’ve sometimes been the person who spends on everyone else easily but can’t even spend $5 on myself.
However, it was annoying that everyone kept pressuring Georgie to buy something. It’s one thing to encourage, but another to insist on it when he didn’t want to do it and had no idea what he was going to buy.
No wonder Georgie ended up buying a jet ski! He felt like he had to get something, so he totally went for the first impulse he had.

And after all that, nobody approved of his purchase. It was classic human behavior, but that didn’t make it any less annoying.

It was a little strange that Georgie decided to get something so expensive, though, especially since he never seemed to be interested in jet skis before he decided to buy one on Episode 20.
Also, earlier in the episode, he didn’t want to spend $180 on a jacket because that felt too extravagant to him, so it was weird that he was comfortable buying the jet ski along with that jacket.
That was the one thing that irked me about the second half of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Episode 20. Sure, the idea that Georgie bought this jet ski and absolutely nobody wanted it on their property was funny, but it felt like the purchase was shoehorned in for the purpose of making the joke.

I don’t like jokes for the sake of being jokes; I prefer stories that are logical, even in comedies.
Audrey and Jim’s Story Was Funnier, Although Somewhat Predictable
Georgie’s situation led to the older McAllisters talking about purchases they had made without the other knowing — or at least, that Jim had made behind Audrey’s back.

Jim tried to make up for not having taken Audrey to a Super Bowl game years ago by getting her tickets to an Astros game, but Audrey was playing a game of her own: gloating about having kept a secret that Jim knew nothing about.
I doubt that Audrey really had kept anything major from Jim, but it was fun for him to get all wound up about it.

Audrey probably knew exactly how her husband would react to the idea that she knew something he didn’t. It was the ultimate revenge for the Super Bowl tickets and anything else that Jim did behind Audrey’s back.
It’s surprising that Jim didn’t realize what she was up to sooner — after all, he knows his wife as well as she knows him, or should, after all these years of marriage. Still, Audrey getting his goat was great comedy. Jim himself even admitted at one point that there probably was no secret, but he still couldn’t help himself.
He even had to pressure Connor to tell him what he knew, and Connor’s deadpan delivery as he resisted Jim’s nonsense made the subplot even more hilarious.
Connor knew how ridiculous his father was being, but Connor is Connor, so he didn’t get at all emotional or try to reason with him in any serious manner.

Mary also got a cameo appearance on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Episode 20 when Georgie begged her to let him park his jetski in her driveway.
We all knew it wouldn’t be only temporary if she agreed, though the montage of the seasons changing was funny. However, is the time jump real? Or will Cici still be three during the season finale?
More importantly, Mary was the second one to mention Sheldon during this episode, and Georgie’s lack of ability to do his bookkeeping made me think of how Sheldon always did that for their father. Could there be a cameo appearance in the works?
Do you want Sheldon to visit? And what did you think of the jetski plot?
