he highly anticipated “Yellowstone” spinoff, “Dutton Ranch,” opened with everything literally going up in flames for fan-favorite couple Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), forcing them to relocate from Montana to South Texas for a fresh beginning.
“We had to pluck these characters off a world they knew into a new one to start again and grow them in a different direction,” Reilly told USA TODAY.
In “Dutton Ranch,” as Beth and Rip “fight to build a future together − far from the ghosts of Yellowstone − they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire,” according to the series’ synopsis.
“Dutton Ranch” director and executive producer Christina Alexandra Voros previously told USA TODAY that the couple’s Texas chapter is “a new beginning, the kind of heartbeat and story of the American West.”
Voros said that while the couple is looking for peace, they “learn there’s always going to be people standing in front of the peace they’re seeking.” “Wherever the Duttons go, they find trouble,” Voros added.
