Attention Twihards, there’s a big milestone that’s quietly arrived.

On Sept. 11, 2006, Renesmee Carlie Cullen — daughter of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise — was born. That means as of 2024, Renesmee is now 18 years old!

The character was portrayed by actress Mackenzie Foy in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part I and Part II. Since her time in the hit movies in 2011 and 2012, respectively, Foy has continued to enjoy success in acting.

Foy, a Los Angeles native, started her career just two years before landing the iconic role at the age of 9. She began with spots in a number of TV series around that time, first appearing in ‘Til Death in 2009, followed by Flashforward and Hawaii Five-0.

When it comes to her time making and promoting Twilight with its mega-star cast, including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, Foy previously told PEOPLE it was a wonderful experience.

“I remember being in Canada, being absolutely freezing. We’re all sitting there, holding hot chocolate and drinking it and playing with Taylor, throwing footballs around and stuff like that,” she recalled.

In 2020, she told Hollywood Life about her gratitude for the role and what it means to be part of the Twilight universe.

“I mean I was nine when all of that started so looking back at it, it is really just…I see that I was really, really lucky to be a part of something like that and how unique of an experience that was,” she shared.

Foy kept a busy schedule in the years following her Twilight fame. She appeared in 2013’s The Conjuring and was part of another big hit as she played Murph in 2014’s Interstellar alongside Matthew McConaughey.

After 2015, Foy began to wind down her acting career, appearing in just two titles since then — 2018’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and 2020’s Black Beauty.

Foy has been enjoying a quieter life in recent years, often sharing glimpses into her continued love of horses — one that started before her Black Beauty role.

As for acting, it’s not a chapter she has closed the door on, though she’s worked sparingly in recent years.

In November 2023, Foy told Flaunt that she would “love to play some form of villain,” explaining, “Going into complicated character pieces would be really, really fun and challenging.”

Foy also expressed her interest in working behind the scenes in film.

“I hope to keep doing film,” she told the outlet, adding, “Hopefully to one day start directing would be amazing.”

At just 23 years old, the young talent has already accomplished so much, working with many industry greats and impressive film credits to her name.
