Iain Armitage is returning to TV.
The Young Sheldon star is marking his TV comeback with a guest appearance in a season 5 episode of the CBS comedy Ghosts, Variety reported.
Armitage, 17, will star as a “heightened version of himself, taking part in a high-stakes poker game at the mansion,” per the character description.
The episode of the spooky sitcom is slated to air on April 16, 2026.

Ghosts blends humor and horror as it chronicles the inheritance of a haunted mansion, Woodstone Manor, by a young couple. Season 4 expanded the paranormal world with the introduction of new characters and plots.
The season ended with a cliffhanger as Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) threw a launch party for Sam and Isaac’s (Brandon Scott Jones) vampire novel.
Along with McIver, Ambudkar and Jones, the show stars Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Roman Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Richie Moriarty, Devan Chandler Long and Rebecca Wisocky.

Armitage, meanwhile, is known for his role as young Sheldon in the prequel series to The Big Bang Theory.
Armitage previously told that being a part of Young Sheldon was the “most fun job in the world.” He added, “I get to play for a living, and I feel so honored and lucky to get to do that.”
Ahead of the series finale after seven seasons in May 2024, Armitage spoke to PEOPLE about growing up on the Young Sheldon set. “It’s been half my life, which is kind of wild to think about, but just so fun, so wonderful, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to grow up,” he said.
“Every single person I get to work with, I feel so honored to get to be working with,” the actor continued. “And get to be their costar or … get to be part of their work and part of their livelihood.”
Aside from his iconic role as the child prodigy, Armitage has starred in the HBO series Big Little Lies, as well as films Our Souls at Night, The Glass Castle and I’m Not Here. The actor has dabbled in voice work as well, voicing young Shaggy in Scoob! and Chase in the Paw Patrol movie.
All four seasons of Ghosts are streaming on Paramount+.
